Up early and the rain’s a comin’ . . . . .

062711_001

That’s the weather picture this morning – rain on the way.  It does look like the majority, or worst of it will be south of us.  I’m glad I got my gutters cleaned out yesterday.  I good rain ought to flush them out clean.  ■  Working on a couple of drawings that I hope to have finished in the next couple of days.

Perch . . . . .

062511_001

Our dog is fluent in English  . . . . . Afghan . . . . it’ s a photo of a door mat that our next-door-neighbors found for us at a garage sale.   It’s true – especially the good grasp of . . . . . . ■  We had Bay Perch tonight done on our enormous frying pan on our grill.  “Bay Perch” – those are perch caught in the Green Bay.  Delicious.  (I’ll post a picture of the frying pan later – the frying pan only fits on my large Weber grill.  It’s really too large to put on the stove – and you’d have to use all 4 burners to even try to get it hot.  ■  The dogs are in bed – time for me to go too.  ‘Night.  ■

What? An uneventful day?

Yes, it was an “uneventful” day.  Nothing going on.  Peaceful, quiet,  . . . . . uneventful.  I have to work tomorrow – Saturday.  Another, hopefully, uneventful day.  ■  I need to practice bass more.  It’s a great instrument, but I do need more practice on it.  ■  And, as it’s my usual phrase …. time to go to bed.  ‘Night.  ■

Toes

Had a podiatrist appointment today for an ingrown toenail on my left foot.  The doc trimmed the offending nail, but I have to go back at the end of July for a permanent fix.  ■  It rained very hard tonight.  The conditions were right for tornados, but I don’t know if there were any.  We’ll probably find some damage in the morning – branches down, etc.  ■  I’ve got two more pen and ink orders.  One if for a house in Houston, TX and the other for a house in La Crosse, WI.  Still waiting on a couple of pictures of the Wisconsin house.  ■  Time for bed.  ‘Night.

Bullfrog’s playin’ . . . and it feels goooood.

061911_001

This is the band playing at Coleman’s In The Park this afternoon.  A little warm, but not too bad.  It was an enjoyable gig and our old Bullfrog friends were happy to hear us play again.  ■  Got a couple of orders to finish and a couple of new drawings to start to work on.  ■  Lots to do and I’m beat from the gig.  ‘Night.  ■

Bullfrog’s giggin’ again!

061511_001

It’s been a dry few months since this past October when we played our last gig.  Since then we’ve reformed a couple of times and now have a stable group.  We went through 3 bass players before I decided to move to bass and find a guitar player to replace me.  Much easier to find a guitar player.  ■  We’ve now booked our first gig – and also a second gig!  It’s going to feel good to get back in the saddle.  We’ve all gone too long without gigging.  ■  I made posters for the gig today and dropped them off at the venue.  ■  Did a quick pencil sketch (you can kind of see it on the poster) of the venue at which we’re playing.  When I dropped the posters off the bartender noticed the drawing and liked it.  ■  Got another pen and ink I’ve got to finish quickly.  Time to get back to work.  ■

Going from 90’s to 50’s in one day. . . .

Yup, it went from HOT to cool in one day.  That’s Chicago.  If you don’t like the weather, just wait 5 minutes.  ■  As I write this it’s raining very softly.  I can hear the patter of raindrops on the leaves of the tree outside my window.  ■  Got to work tomorrow, which is good ‘cause I need the hours.  The more hours, the better.  ■  The dogs got to go on another ride to the bank today.  They love going to the bank.  And I think the tellers like the cards they’re receiving from the dogs.  ■  Way past time for bed.  ‘Night.  ■

We’re back and planning . . . .

↓↓060811_001

We’re back and planning on the move for my mother.  Lot’s of people involved from coast-to-coast.  Our greatest thanks to Terry who did the lion’s share of the moving and driving the truck from Richmond, VA to Louisville, KY.  And then he loaded The china cabinet in his pickup and drove it from Louisville to Cary, IL.  We’re forever in your debt, Terry.  ■  Today Holly got in contact with the place my mother is going to move to.  (Is that correct English??)  Plans are coming together, but it’s a lot of planning on one end and confirming it with the other.  Holly’s THE BEST!  That’s why I married her!  ■  I know you’re all wondering what the pictures are above.  I’ve been doing “thank you cards” from our pooches whenever we go to the bank.  I give them to the tellers and they send doggie treats to Zoe and Abby.  They really are pretty cute.  Holly wants them for note cards.  ■  Tomorrow night is an mixer for our networking group from the Chamber of Commerce.  I’m bringing Holly ‘cause I’m not as socially advanced as she it.  ■  Time, yes, for bed.  ‘Night.

In Louisville.

Almost to Indy

Just put in $56 worth of gas. Too expensive!

In Indiana

On our way. Stopped at a Cracker Barrel and ate.

A trip to the bank . . . . with the girls . . .

060111_001

Yes, the girls, Abby & Zoe, love car rides to the bank.  They just can’t wait until the teller send out dog treats for them.  Zoe, in fact, drools.  And I always put a card from the girls for the tellers in with the deposit.  I try to only give them hand-drawn cards, but I think I’ve gone through all of my current crop at the moment.  ■  Off to Louisville, KY and Richmond, VA for a few days.  I’ll be blogging from the road starting tomorrow.  I’ll probably do multiple posts during the trip.  ■

Is it actually June 1st?

Yes, it is.  Five months have passed this year – time is flying – as it usually does as we get older.  Did quite a bit of stuff today.   Lots to do tomorrow before our short trip out east.  1.  I have to cut the grass.  It already needs it and if I don’t cut it before we go it’ll be too long by the time we get back.  No rain tomorrow.   ■  Met a new neighbor down the street.  She has two wolfhounds – one Irish and one Russian.  The Russian one needs to put on weight.  It’s really skinny.  ■  Lots to do tomorrow before the trip.
