This scares me. I know there’s nerve damage and it does progress, but how much, how fast – that’s what I’m trying to research. No answers yet. Anyone know answers?

Had dinner tonight with some old friends – and good friends all – and yes, the food was terrific --- shrimp, burgers, brats, potato salad, cole slaw, apple pie things – all homemade except for the shrimp. Ok, the burgers and brats weren’t homemade either, but they were good too. ■ This is a picture of some of the ladies (not Terry) in the kitchen – dominating the serving area. ■ I’ve got to work tomorrow at 10:00 am – don’t know for how long yet. ■ Sunday is our across-the-street neighbor’s summer kickoff party. That should be a lot of fun. Holly’s making a pie to take – a very special pie – we’ll see how it turns out. ■ More on the ‘morrow.

. . . or what you don’t want to hear from the doctor. I went to my doc today to have him look at my feet. I know I’ve got and ingrown toenail on my big toe on my left foot, but I’ve also had some burning sensations on my feet. This is apparently a common symptom for diabetics. The nerves in my feet are damaged, or are being damaged. My feet feel like they’re burning at night. It’s not too bad now, but I hope it doesn’t get worse. ■ Tomorrow I’ve got to call the foot doctor and make an appointment. ■ And tomorrow night it’s party time at Cheryl & Bill’s with our friends Rusty & Mary from the gulf coast coming in. Should be fun. ■

I don’t like the photo. It doesn’t show how cool the band is and I look too old and fat. I think I should stand behind the guys – at least you’d only see my face. ■ We did onions, brats, and steak on the gill tonight --- delicious. The onions are like the best French Onion Soup you’ve ever tasted. ■ Got a doctor’s appointment tomorrow morning. I’ve got some problems with my feet – more-so with my left foot than the right. I know feet are a problem with diabetics, so I though maybe I could catch this problem early. ■ Way past time for bed. ‘Night.

That’s why I chose her out of all the other dogs we looked at. Those eyes just implore you to love her. Kudos to Holly for taking the photo. It’s probably the best one we have of her so far. ■ Worked for a couple of hours today and then had to setup and use my PA for the park district’s “Battle of the Bands” competition. The company that was supposed to do sound had a tire on their equipment trailer shredded and couldn’t get it fixed in time for the competition. It was a lot of fun – 5 bands and they all did well. ■ Got band practice tomorrow along with taking pictures of the band for the website and posters. ■ Watched the 3rd “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies tonight. Not very good. We’d seen parts of it before. ■ Tomorrow we’re thinking chicken on the grill – and some more of those delicious onions in a foil pack. Boy are those delicious. ■

. . . of a friend’s body shop. It’s on a thank you card that I’m sending him. ■ Attended our networking group’s monthly breakfast meeting this morning. Always good to see everyone in an informal setting. ■ I’ve got some lettering to do on two drawings and then I’ll send them out. And then I’ve got one more to start on. ■ Saturday I’m a judge at a local battle of the bands. That should be fun. ■ Time, yes, for bed. Goodnight!

. . . more interesting! I have a little post-it note program with which I can post a post-in note to any web page. When ever I visit that page the post-it note will appear. It’s a nice app to use with Google Chrome. ■ Tomorrow I have off. It’ll give me some time to get some more things done. ■ I still have to finish cleaning my office. When that’s done they’ll be a picture. ■ Pictures tomorrow. I promise. ■
. . . have been used in previous blog posts. ■ It’s late and I want to go to bed – though first I have to kick/lure the dogs off of the bed. I’d say wish me luck, but a dog biscuit will do the trick. We humans are sneaky. ■ I’ve been working on one of the Admiral’s homes and it’s just taking so long. So many little details to get just right. ■ Band practice was good on Sunday (that was before the parade) and I think this may be the best incarnation of the band yet. Stay tuned for details as they arrive. ■

These are note cards with our dogs on them that I give to the tellers when I go to the drive-up window at my bank – I do take both of our dogs with me – they love the bank. You see the cards are from Abby & Zoe saying “thank you” for the dog treats they give them. I’ve done this for the past few deposits and now they recognize the dogs and call them by name. ■ Went to the Lombard Lilac Parade today – I’m a music judge for the parade. I’ve probably been a judge at the Lilac parade for the past 5 or 6 years now. Today it was cooooold. I think the temp was about 49 and we had a strong wind blowing, which made it feel much colder. ■ Got a good start cleaning my office. Now I’ve got to finish it. I’ll take a picture of it when I’m done. ■ Work tomorrow and a productive week ahead, I hope! ■

. . . ,but it will soon. Not all of the trees have leafed-out yet – the locust’s are really slow this year. If you weren’t familiar with the area you drive around and say that those locust trees were dead. No, they’re not dead – just slow. ■ I’ll be working every day this week – 6 of them at the store and Sunday I’m a judge at the annual Lombard Lilac Parade. This will be maybe the 5th year I’ve been a judge. Always a lot of fun and a party afterwards. ■ Time for bed . . . . night.

. . . but maybe not. It is overcast, but they’re only predicting a 60% chance of rain. ■ Got the oil changed in my lawnmower – many thanks to Jac my across the street neighbor. Now I just have to get more gas for the mower. I think my lawn is long enough now – at least in the backyard for me to cut it. That’s a job for tomorrow as I have to leave for work in about 5 minutes. ■
