Snow! And we thought it was over!

Winter, that is. Yes, we thought winter was over, but here is the proof in a picture - snow. Hard to believe that it's the 28th of April and it snowed. I'm sure I'll have to mow the lawn later this week - snow and mowing in the same week. Somethin' aint right.

More snow . . .

11:45 am - That's a current picture of our neighborhood. I must confess that I'm sick and tired of the snow. This has just been a brutal winter. And now it's March 21st and it's snowing - again. Total accumulation is going to be somewhere between 3 and 9 inches. At least we know this snowfall won't stick around very long as the temperatures during the day are above freezing. ■ 2:00 pm - It's still snowing. I think we've got about 6 inches so far. My next door neighbor shoveled my sidewalks and driveway (bless him) and now you can't even tell. I'd like to get out there and shovel (ok, I don't really want to shovel, but ...), but my back is kind of out today. I keep hoping that it'll loosen up as the day goes on, but it's just not doing that. 3:15 pm - thought I'd add another picture. The village plowed earlier today - around 10:00 am, but hasn't been back since. We were going to go out and see my old band play tonight, but with this snow and bad roads we've decided against it.

The snow is melting ... finally!

The snow is finally melting. It's good to see the grass again, or at least we're starting to see the grass. It seems like it's been forever! I expect all the snow will be gone in the next few days - except for those huge piles in the parking lots. I wonder how long those will take to melt . . . . .

More snow! Can't wait to go!

7:25 am - Snow! We've had enough! To the left is a picture of our patio. You can see the new snowfall. We probably only received about 3 inches, but it still means I need to get out and shovel this morning. ■ Still lots to do to get ready for the cruise. I've got to take down the old smoke alarm and install a new smoke/carbon monoxide alarm. That's a project for this afternoon - after shoveling snow, of course. More later on . . . 8:20 am - Bless his heart - my great neighbor, Steve (yes, we share the same first name), has taken his snowblower and done my driveway and sidewalks. It looks like we received about 4 inches. ■ We have a funeral to go to this morning. It's always a sad occasion, but going helps support the family and that's always needed.
